GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

CONCERN FOR THE ELDERLY

John Carr, owner of Banana Bank has a heart as big as Montana for older persons.  He has been very active in the Belmopan Helpage organization and has served on their board of directors for several years.  Banana Bank Lodge has done an annual Christmas banquet for the Valley of Peace older persons.  We have provided food and lodging over the years for many missionaries who come to donate time and energy to projects from medical to construction in the Valley of Peace area.

SUPPORT FOR THE POLICE

Banana Bank is a strong supporter of our local police department having provided boats and man power when the police had a need to canvas the river.  The Roaring Creek police have enjoyed a day at Banana Bank to swim and ride horses as our way of saying “Thank You” for what they do to keep our community safe.  The slides show an event the police held for the police cadets teaching them to swim.  Although most young people living along the river know how to swim the police officers taught the cadets the correct way to save the life of a drowning person.

ENCOURAGEMENT FOR YOUTH

Banana Bank has been a supporter of young people in our community since the Carr and Jaeger families bought Banana Bank Ranch way back in 1973.  We have supported and participated in training programs to place youth into the job market.  We support Belmopan Action Youth as well as church and school programs to help young people find themselves.  Harvest For Kids based in Belize City benefited greatly from crops grown and harvested at Banana Bank, the proceeds going for youth programs and projects in Belize City.  We understand that investment in youth pays off in a big way!!
