DRIVING TO THE LODGE

How to get to Banana Bank Lodge & Belize Horseback Adventures

Traveling from Belize City you will come to a large round about. Veer to the right of the round-about and continue across the bridge and through the village of Roaring Creek. Go 2 ½ miles on the Western Highway until you come to a large commercial complex called Westar. Continue straight ahead a few yards

Up ahead you will see a large cement sign shown in photo 2. Slow Down and prepare to turn.

This is how the scene will look if you are coming from San Ignacio

At the large yellow cement Banana Bank sign, turn right. You are now on the Young Bank Village road

Follow the dirt road through the long village of Young Bank and cross Over the Belize River on the Agripino Cowitch Bridge.

After leaving the bridge, continue along the dirt road that veers to the right and go about 1 ½ miles You will see ahead that the road makes a sharp turn to the left.

Here you will see a sign for the Global Outreach Boys School. Turn left.

You are now on the Valley Of Peace road. Continue along this road, crossing a small bridge and then another for a distance of approximately 2 ½ miles. Watch for a cement Banana Bank sign on the right side of the road. Here you will turn right.

You are now on Banana Bank and on our private road. You will drive for 2 miles through pastures. Watch out for livestock on the road. There are some gentle curves but no bad ruts.

On the left you will pass some grain bins. On the right a little further is a house painted purple and turquoise. One owners daughter lives here. A little further along on the left is a lovely house on a hill. The other owner’s son lives here.

You are nearly to Banana Bank Lodge. Just ahead is a left turn. Follow the road that curves to the right and you will see ahead a pink round pen.

Pass the pink round pen and go a few yards to turn right into the parking lot.

You are very close to the office. Pass through the gate and along the serpentine walkway. Welcome to Banana Bank Lodge.
